ACM Connect : Chapter Insights

The ACM Student Chapter, VIT Chennai, in collaboration with RIT ACM Student Chapter and Vels Tech ACM Student Chapter, successfully organized a Networking Meet titled “ACM Connect : Chapter Insights” on August 23, 2026. The meet was held virtually via Google Meet from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with participation from members of all three ACM Student Chapters under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator Dr. Subbulakshmi T.

Key Guests and Objectives

The main objective of the meet was to foster collaboration among ACM chapters, share insights on ACM operations, and build a strong foundation for future joint activities.

The session provided an overview of ACM’s working and functioning, local chapter activities, cPanel management, and best practices for maintaining a clean and organized codebase. Additionally, our AY25-26 events and initiatives were showcased to enlighten the participating chapters about our activities.

Meeting Proceedings

Welcome and Introduction: The meet began with a warm welcome by the VIT Chennai ACM Core Team, followed by introductions from the RIT and Vels Tech ACM representatives.

ACM Working and Local Activities: The structure and functioning of ACM were discussed, along with the importance of local chapter activities. The participating chapters also shared their initiatives and experiences.

cPanel Overview: A walkthrough of cPanel was provided, explaining its usage for website management, hosting, and handling various chapter-related resources.

Codebase Maintenance: Best practices for maintaining the codebase were discussed, including proper organization, version control, collaboration, documentation, and keeping the repository clean and scalable.

Q&A and Networking: An interactive Q&A session was conducted, allowing members to exchange ideas, clarify doubts, and strengthen connections between the three ACM chapters.

Conclusion

The ACM Connect : Chapter Insights meet provided an engaging platform for students and core team members to develop a deeper appreciation for collaborative learning, operational clarity, and meaningful technical discussions. The initiative successfully encouraged participants to share their perspectives, strengthen regional camaraderie, and inspire each other through the power of collective knowledge sharing and computing excellence.
